About us

The Edmundston Arts Centre is a non-profit organization dedicated to the development, creation and presentation of the arts in the community. Administered by the municipality, the Centre annually presents art exhibitions, workshops, artist residencies and some fifty professional shows, among others, at the Centre des arts (100 cabaret seats or 250 people standing), at the Salle Léo-Poulin (750 fixed seats) and at the Centre Jean-Daigle amphitheatre. The Edmundston Arts Centre is also the instigator of several arts festivals, including La Ruée vers l'ART Ventures, Pumpkin Day, Les Humanoïdes and Edmundston en musique. Located in northwestern New Brunswick, Edmundston is a francophone city of 16,000 people.

Bio: CHRISTINE LAVOIE is the Director of the Arts and Culture Department of the City of Edmundston and the Edmundston Arts Centre. Previously, she was Coordinator of the Stratégie de promotion des artistes acadiens sur la scène internationale (SPAASI) from 2011 to 2018, Team Leader of the Cultural Planning Section at the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) from 2009 to 2011, and Program Specialist in Arts, Culture, Heritage and Film at the City of Regina, Saskatchewan from 2002 to 2009. A graduate of theUniversité de Moncton in Visual Arts, Christine has been a professional ceramic artist and sculptor since 1995.
